With December and the turn of the new year upon us, we thought it appropriate to present in the Ephemera display case a small selection of printed materials relating to calendars, calendar advertisements, and agendas from the 1880s through to the first decade of the 20th century. Across a chronological span of twenty-five years, we can observe the shift in taste from the pre-Modernisme typical of the 1888 Universal Exposition, through Modernisme itself, to the first stirrings of Noucentisme in these eminently popular printed items.
