Christmas cards

The postcard became popular starting in the 1880s. By the turn of the century, it had become a widespread craze. Naturally and spontaneously, the desire arose to use this medium to send Christmas and New Year greetings. We present a selection of examples, from the donation of Carme Carreras-Candi, dating from the first two decades of the 20th century in Catalonia and other countries: Germany, Denmark, France, the United States, and the United Kingdom. With this exhibition, the Museum of Montserrat wishes to express to you what these postcards convey visually: happiness and prosperity for one and all.
