Regio 7 - The Museum of Montserrat acquires and displays a work by Alfred Figueras

The "Open Window" space of the Museum of Montserrat's reserve collection displays during this month of January the artwork Horts de Sant Fruitós by the Bages-born artist Alfred Figueras (Sant Fruitós de Bages, 1898-Barcelona, 1980), which the museum has recently acquired as a donation from the couple Arcadi Gual and Isabel Obeso.

In this painting, the artist offers a vision both luminous and orderly of the landscape of his hometown, Sant Fruitós de Bages, where vegetable gardens, vernacular architecture, and human presence integrate to create a balanced composition, dominated by warm colors and a frank brushstroke, as explained by the abbey's museum team. In this space, an artwork from the museum's collection is exhibited each month.
