As part of the series Miró. Art and Territory, organised by the Xarxa de Museus d’Art de Catalunya to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Fundació Joan Miró, the Museu de Montserrat hosted the dialogue Contemplation and Transcendence: Miró and Contemporary Spirituality on 17 October.
In this conversation, Dr Teresa Blanch and Dr Raül Garrigasait explore how contemplating nature in Mont-roig shaped Joan Miró’s artistic vision, his fascination with Romanesque painting, and the affinities between his work and the spiritual currents of his time.
